Navigating the Vehicle View

Learn how to effectively use the Vehicle View in ShopController to manage vehicle information, service history, financial records, and more.

 

Accessing Vehicle Information

  • Viewing All Vehicles: In your account, you will see a list of all vehicles. This is the default view when you access the 'Vehicles' section.
  • Archived Vehicles: To view vehicles that have been archived:
    • Click on the drop-down menu to select 'Archived Vehicles'.
    • From here, you can find and reactivate archived vehicles if needed.

Vehicle Detail Page

When you select a specific vehicle, such as a 2011 Honda Civic, you'll be taken to its detail page, which includes:

Basic Vehicle Details

  • At the top of the page, you'll find essential information about the vehicle.
  • Repair Guides: If a VIN number is linked to the vehicle and you have the necessary account features, complete repair guides are available.
  • Editing Details: Click on the pencil icon to edit basic details like the VIN number, license plate, or to add a photo of the vehicle.

Vehicle History and Financial Overview

  • Service Records: View the service history and the status of each service.
  • Financial Records: Below the service records, there's a financial overview showing invoices, estimates, and payments related to the vehicle.
  • This section provides insights into what the customer has paid for and the vehicle's service history frequency.

Vehicle Ownership and Contact

  • See who currently owns the vehicle and change ownership if necessary using the link icon.
  • Contact the owner directly from this page.

Deferred Services

  • This section lists services that were quoted to a customer but not completed.
  • You can keep these quotes on record for future reference by adding them as deferred services.

Additional Features

Activity Tab

  • Add internal comments about the vehicle.
  • Tag team members in comments for collaborative communication.
  • Record specific details about the vehicle, like special care instructions for a unique paint job.

Property Tab

  • Access additional vehicle properties not displayed by default to avoid clutter.
  • These properties range from body make and serial to warranty and tire size.
  • Utilize these properties for reporting, invoicing, and other extended features available in the app.
