How to Set Up and Use Stripe Terminal

This guide walks you through setting up and using a Stripe Terminal for processing payments within ShopController.

2.1 Name Your Terminal

  • You can have multiple terminals (e.g., one at the front desk and one at the back).
  • Assign a unique name to each terminal for easy identification.

2.2 Connect the Terminal to Your Network

Ensure the Stripe Terminal is on the same network as ShopController:

  • Set up Wi-Fi on the terminal so it can communicate with the system.

2.3 Generate a Pairing Code

To pair your Stripe Terminal:

  1. Enter your admin PIN on the terminal’s settings screen (PIN is usually provided when the device is created). The default PIN may be 07139.
  2. Click Generate Pairing Code to receive a code.
  3. Enter this pairing code in ShopController under the Add New Terminal screen.

3. Link Employees to the Stripe Terminal

To allow employees access to the terminal:

  1. Click Link under the terminal settings in ShopController.
  2. Select the employees who should have access.
  3. Once linked, these employees will be able to use the terminal for processing payments.

4. Processing Payments Using Stripe Terminal

Once the terminal is set up and linked to employees, you can use it to process payments within a job:

  1. Go to the job where payment is required.
  2. Scroll down to the invoice section and click Apply Payment.
  3. Select Stripe as the payment type.
  4. Choose Terminal as the payment mode.
  5. Select the Reader (terminal device) that is linked and ready for use.
