ShopController offers two convenient ways to add vehicles to your account.
1. Adding a Vehicle from the Job Screen
Start by creating a new job: Click the "Add New Job" button in the top left corner.
Select the customer: Choose the customer who owns the vehicle you want to add from the drop-down menu. This will display a list of vehicles already associated with that customer.
Add a new vehicle to the customer: If the desired vehicle isn't listed, click the plus sign (+) next to the "Vehicle" field. This opens a new window for adding vehicle details.
2. Adding a Vehicle from the Vehicles Panel
Open the Vehicles panel: Click the "Vehicles" tab on the sidebar.
Click "Add Vehicle": This opens a window for entering new vehicle information.
Entering Vehicle Details
Year, Make, and Model: Enter the vehicle's year, make, and model manually.
VIN Decoder: Alternatively, enter the vehicle's VIN number in the dedicated field.Shopcontroller's VIN decoder will automatically populate the year, make, and model based on the VIN.
License Plate Lookup: You can also use the license plate number and state to retrieve vehicle information from Carfax.
Motor Serial and Customer: While not mandatory, it's recommended to add and associate the vehicle with a customer for better record-keeping.
Vehicle Type: Select the vehicle type from the provided options. If a suitable option isn't available, you can create a custom vehicle type by clicking the 'plus' icon.
Vehicle Color: Assign a color to the vehicle for easy identification.
Tags: Add tags to the vehicle to categorize it or highlight any special characteristics. These tags are searchable.
Photo: Upload a photo of the vehicle for visual reference.
Additional Notes:
Remember to click "Save" to add the new vehicle to your ShopController database.
You can edit or delete vehicle information at any time.
