This article will guide you through the steps of adding a new job in Shopcontroller.
1. Adding Basic Job Information
- Click the "Add New Job" button in the top left corner.
- Enter the customer's name and select the appropriate vehicle. If the customer is new, you can create a new customer record by clicking the plus sign next to the customer name field.
- Enter the VIN number (optional) and odometer reading.
- Select the job status (e.g., Inspection).
- Choose the lead technician for the job.
- Set an appointment date and time.
- Add any relevant tags to the job.
- Add a discount if applicable.
- Upload any additional files.
2. Assigning Services
- Shopcontroller allows you to assign individual services to different technicians within the same job.
- Click the "Add Service" button to add a new service to the job once you get to the Job Detail View
- You can select a service from the list of pre-defined services, or create a new custom service.
- Once you have added all of the necessary services, you can assign each service to a specific technician.
3. Completing the Job
- Once all of the information has been entered, click the "Save" button.
- You can then track the progress of the job, add notes, and upload additional images and files.
- When the job is complete, you can invoice the customer.
